# Can I connect ChatGPT or Claude to see my clients' Instagram DMs and deals?

Yes, if your social media tool offers an MCP connector. Inexra connects to Claude, ChatGPT and Claude Code over MCP: once you approve it, you can ask about DMs, deals, posts and reports for any client workspace you have open. It can also draft a reply or a deal update if you allow that, but nothing goes out until someone confirms it inside Inexra.

This comes up because agencies already live in Claude or ChatGPT for other work and would rather ask a question there than open another tab. The answer depends on whether the social media tool supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the standard that lets an AI app talk to outside software with your permission.

Where it's supported, the setup is an address and an OAuth sign-in, the same shape as connecting any other MCP tool. Once connected, the AI app reads whatever you can already see in the tool itself: open DMs, the deal pipeline, scheduled and published posts with their numbers, and client reports. It answers from that real data rather than guessing, so the numbers match what you'd see in the dashboard.

The part agencies ask about most is whether the AI app can act on its own, and the honest answer is no, not directly. A reply, a deal stage change or a task it prepares goes into a review queue and waits for a person to confirm it. That's by design: the AI app can get you to a drafted answer faster, but a teammate still decides whether it goes out. If a client workspace doesn't show up, it usually means AI access is switched off for that client or the account isn't on a plan that includes it.
