# How to Get Slack Alerts for New Social Media Leads and Client Approvals

Inexra can post to a Slack channel when something happens in a client's account that your team should know about now. A new lead came in through the DMs, a client approved next week's posts, a post failed to publish. Each message names the client and links straight back to it in Inexra, so whoever sees it can act without hunting for it.

You choose which alerts each client's channel gets. New leads and won deals are on to start, the rest are yours to switch on, and checks that could repeat post at most once a day, so the channel stays worth reading.

## What Slack can hear about

| Alert | When it posts |
| -------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| New leads from DMs and comments | Someone from the DMs or comments becomes a lead |
| Deals won | A deal from that client's social is marked won |
| A client opened a report | The client opens a report link for the first time |
| A client approved or sent back posts | The client finishes reviewing posts you sent for approval |
| A post failed to publish | A scheduled post did not go out |
| Posts going out soon without client approval | Posts are about to publish before the client has approved them |
| An account disconnected or needs reconnecting soon | A client's Instagram, Facebook or YouTube connection stopped working or is about to expire |

New leads and won deals are on by default. Turn on the others per client.

## Set it up

1. In Slack, add the Incoming Webhooks app to the channel you want the alerts in, and copy its webhook URL.
2. In Inexra, switch to the client, open Settings, then Integrations, and choose Slack.
3. Paste the webhook URL, tick the alerts you want, and save.
4. Click Send test message to check it arrives.

Only owners and admins can set this up or change it, because the webhook can post to the whole channel. Inexra only accepts Slack's own webhook addresses and never shows the saved URL again in full.

Each client workspace has its own webhook. That means you can send every client to one shared channel, give your biggest clients a channel each, or send a client's alerts to a channel your client contact is in.

## Why agencies use it

The DMs that turn into paid work are the ones that get a fast reply. If a lead sits in an inbox nobody is looking at, the speed is gone. A Slack alert puts it where the team already is, with a link to the conversation.

The other alerts protect the client relationship. A post that failed or an account that disconnected is a problem the client will notice if you don't. A client opening their report is a good moment to follow up before the renewal call.

## FAQ

### Is the Slack integration free?

Yes. It works on every Inexra plan.

### Can I send different clients to different Slack channels?

Yes. Each client workspace has its own webhook and its own alert choices.

### Will Slack get spammed with repeat alerts?

No. Only new leads and won deals are on to start. The checks that could repeat, like posts waiting on approval or an account that needs reconnecting, post at most once a day.

### How do I stop the alerts?

Open Settings, then Integrations, then Slack for that client and click Turn off. Inexra forgets the webhook and stops posting. You can also remove the Incoming Webhooks app from the channel in Slack.
