How to Schedule YouTube Videos and Shorts for Clients, and Answer Their Comments

Connect a client's YouTube channel to Inexra to schedule videos and Shorts next to their Instagram and Facebook posts, answer YouTube comments in the same inbox, and see the channel's results in their report. Here is what the YouTube integration does and how to set it up.

Inexra connects to YouTube through Google's official YouTube API. Once a client's channel is connected, their videos and Shorts are planned and scheduled on the same calendar as their Instagram and Facebook posts, their YouTube comments come into the same inbox, and the channel's numbers show up in Analytics and in the client's report.

What the YouTube integration does

Publishing

  • Schedule long videos and Shorts from the same composer you use for every other post.
  • Set the title, description, privacy (public, unlisted or private) and thumbnail, and add a first comment that goes up with the video.
  • Rewrite the description of a video that is already live, or delete it, from Inexra.
  • Bulk schedule from a CSV with YouTube title and privacy columns, or import video designs from Canva.
  • Send the month to the client for approval. The approval page shows each video's YouTube title, so the client approves what will actually go up.

Comments

  • YouTube comments land in the client's Inexra inbox next to their Instagram and Facebook comments.
  • Reply, hide or unhide a comment without opening YouTube Studio.

Analytics

  • Views and engagement per video, recorded from the moment it publishes.
  • With the optional analytics permission: shares, subscribers gained, daily channel views and viewer demographics.
  • The numbers feed the same Analytics pages and client reports as the client's other channels.

Set it up

  1. Switch to the client in Inexra, open Settings, then Integrations, and choose YouTube.
  2. Click Connect and sign in with the Google account that manages the channel.
  3. Approve access. Google asks for publishing and comments, plus an optional analytics permission. Leave analytics ticked if you want channel analytics in reports.

If the client owns the channel and you don't have their Google login, send them a client connect link from Inexra. They connect the channel themselves with no Inexra account, and it shows up in their workspace.

Disconnecting

Open Settings, then Integrations, then YouTube, and click Disconnect. Inexra deletes the channel's YouTube data within 7 days of disconnecting. If you reconnect the same channel within those 7 days, everything is kept.

FAQ

Can Inexra schedule YouTube Shorts?

Yes. Upload a vertical video and schedule it like any other post. Inexra labels it as a Short.

Can I reply to YouTube comments from Inexra?

Yes. Comments come into the client's inbox, where you can reply to them, hide them or unhide them. YouTube has no private messages, so there is no DM reply option.

Does the client need an Inexra account to connect their channel?

No. Send them a client connect link. They sign in with Google and approve, and the channel is connected to their workspace.

What happens to YouTube data when I disconnect?

Inexra deletes it within 7 days. Reconnecting the same channel before then keeps everything as it was.

Does Inexra use the official YouTube API?

Yes. It uses Google's YouTube Data API and YouTube Analytics API, and Google has verified Inexra's access.
