How do I know a social media client is about to cancel?

The early signs are slower replies on approvals and content requests, and reports opened late or not at all. Later signs are casual questions like "what are we actually getting from this?", new questions about price or scope, and a new person, often a partner or finance lead, joining calls.
Act on the first two. By the time a client asks what they're getting, they've often half decided.
What helps at that stage:
- A short call built around the goal you agreed, with the leads and customers social produced since the last review.
- Named examples: specific people who messaged and booked, and the post behind them.
- A clear change for the next month, so the conversation is about what happens next.
A standing check-in around month three is worth adding for every new client. That's when most decide whether the agency is worth keeping.
